I consider wich approach can expedient for implemantation of tagged webpages are? S. here for example the #LVEE2017 conference. How can I efficient userfriendly by prearrangement and realisation of event LVEE all content inclusive webpages tagged able to make? So that for example one LVEE attendee or interested party with Hubzilla search query https://lvee2017.hubzilla.org/search?search=%23visa ad-hoc get as search result all LVEE2017 content, wich is tagged with #visa tag. Also webpages. Or with search query https://lvee2017.hubzilla.org/search?search=%23speichercloud get all lvee2017 content, wich is tagged with #speichercloud.

Good question. My ill-informed guess is that the search tool was created before the webpages system was mature and that it has received very little attention. Probably my most significant contribution to Hubzilla has been the wiki module, and it did not cross my mind to add the wiki content to the search scope. As with most things, usage drives most development, and from what I can tell not many people use the webpage or wiki system in any serious way (e.g. on a hub used by an organization for active collaboration with many people). Perhaps you may be able to help extend the search tool scope and functionality.

Hm, I guess, that only one ACL-sensitive Hubzilla channel search (HCS) for all areas (forum, wiki, webpages, events and other objects) is one userfriendly search. In ideal case indexed the HCS also the files in the Hubzilla-cloud. YaCy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/YaCy is one peer-to-peer search engine under GPL license, the that all - index forum, wiki, webpages, events and other objects - performed. But YaCy has one deficiency - YaCy is Java -based solution :-|.

Other search engine is regain http://regain.sourceforge.net/ . regain is also Java -based solution.

I think the only thing you need to do is alter the search query; as this uses item_normal() which restricts the search to conversational items. How one proceeds depends on whether or not you want only webpages or search results with mixed webpages/conversations/wiki-pages/whatever. Wikis will be much harder. For webpages I think you only need to include them in the search. For wikis, you'll need some additional logic in mod_display to send the page to the wiki module.

Permissions could get a bit messy because you can't provide search results for a webpage without checking that the observer can view webpages produced by that channel; and you also need to deal with mixed permissions where they can see webpages but not conversations. In that respect a separate search module for webpages would be cleaner from a systems/security perspective; but not as convenient as a one-stop search where all the permission checking is integrated.

item_normal() (from include/items.php) is basically a macro for generating a complex sql statement which checks for items with a bunch of characteristics (they aren't hidden, they aren't posted in the future, they aren't webpages, etc.). Most conversational tools use item_normal() to filter out other things that aren't meant to be displayed in conversations. So I just created item_normal_search() which is basically the same macro, but also includes webpages.

No, the setting is in the individual connection permissions settings.

Edit Connection -> Individual Permissions -> Can administer my channel

If granted this permission, you can use the channel manager to find this channel added to the list of channels you own, but it will be listed as a Delegated Channel. You click the link and are effectively authenticated as that channel and can edit that channel's content and make posts, etc.

Also nicht nur Crowdworking als Arbeitsform - was sowieso im Hubzilla-Projekt gelebt wird. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass auch die in selbstlernenden Algorithmen verwendete Methoden im Hubzilla-Projekt wiederverwendbar wären. Aber es hat nicht so angehört, dass die Macher hinter Kleinbus Olli irgendwas mit Open Source zu tun haben.

Fact is that perennially I get notification, that @Mike Macgirvin comment my status, but when I click attempts the comments for @Mike Macgirvin to read, I see in thread any comments of @Mike Macgirvin. It is happening for second comment @Mike Macgirvin just now. I findn't this new comment @Mike Macgirvin. I am on https://hub.freecommunication.org/ hub logged in.

For example in this thread miss I one comment @Mike Macgirvin from 10 hours ago.

Important! When I logged in on Hub https://hub.freecommunication.org/, then I see any posts of Mike Macgirvin, tagged with "2 hours ago". I guess, that some (wold-be) missed comments could caused with a bug in notification protocol of Hubzilla. Is only a presumption of me.

I took a quick visit to my clones and found this when checking grid notifications from @Mike Macgirvin : At Hubzilla standard 2.2, standard 2.5 and Pro 2.2 I was showed 1 post and 4 comments from Mike. At Hubzilla Pro 2.5 I was only shown 1 comment from Mike.
I only looked back three days, and I didn't check the rest of my contacts, so I can't really say if anything else is missing.

Notification are only generated when your system receives a post/comment so I don't understand how they could be missing on your site. There was a bug with 'Diaspora edit activities' (hidden activities) showing up in the notifications but this should have been fixed a few weeks ago and you might see them for folks running older software versions but you shouldn't see them for me or anybody running dev. The only way to know for sure what is happening is for your site admin to check the logs and/or database.

The help pages

contains not only texts in different languages. The content of [1] and [2] is also different. Is it intended, those URL /address design for [1] and [2] to offert? I suggest one consistent URL/ address syntax for help and other Hubzilla pages to design and to apply. S. also subject: serverside delievery of appropriate language-sensitive pageversion worsened searchengine ranking .

In my opinion, is it usefull, when Hubzilla user can for the Hubzilla help the external searchengines of its choice to apply.

'help/features' is available in three languages depending on your browser settings. You probably ended up with the 'de' version. It's also available in 'ca' as well as English. This is exactly what I meant w/r/t webpages - today I provided the ability for webpages and wikis to also provide translations - not just help pages. We have different capitalisation conventions because a lot of stuff was migrated from the old Redmatrix github wiki and we kept the capitalisation rules of those files so that we could push them back if we updated them. If we changed the name we couldn't push them back to github wiki pages. We also ran into issue that most of the original documentation was written in markdown, but many contributors preferred bbcode because you could add [baseurl] links. I personally think documentation should be markdown, but I'm not in charge here. You (collectively) are.

We don't have to worry about the github wiki sync any more - we're not using it. So it makes sense to consolidate the help pages. Andrew has done a lot to make this happen. (Big thanks Andrew!). It's probably more important to provide translations for the pages he already consolidated, and then work on organising the content which isn't referenced in those pages. So yes, I agree that this needs cleanup. You are welcome to help clean it up. But be aware that we provide the ability to translate each of these pages and have done so for several years.

Most of the #doco issues are my fault. I spent a lot of time improving the content, organization and presentation of the help pages, but I didn't completely remove the existing pages, which are still reachable and sometimes confusing as you discovered. The biggest problem right now is that the doco search does not work well. It's been months and no one else has volunteered to continue this doco improvement project. Maybe I'll get motivated to keep working on it at some point.

I think, that it is favourable the activities in Hubzilla help project useful to organise - job sharing also. I mean for example, that @tobias planned one Comanche for beginners manual to publish. My idea is, that the content of Hubzilla intro help are tagged with tags #HubzillaGuest #HubzillaBeginner #HubzillaUser #HubzillaExpert #HubzillaAdmin. In any case, Gustav you are discussing a lot of topics here. Mike answered your question about why there are two separate "features" pages with different content: the doco is filled with historical pieces that have not been completely organized.

In order to contribute something useful, I encourage you to step back and ask yourself why you want to spend time working on this particular component of Hubzilla. Is your goal to help people who are already using Hubzilla and you want to make the doco more accessible or useful to them? Or is your goal to improve the language translations for non-English speakers? Or is your goal to introduce Hubzilla to new people and encourage them to use the software? Or do you just really enjoy learning about Hubzilla and imagining the endless possibilities Hubzilla could support?

Your ideas about the "Hubzilla mobile agent" are interesting, and you've clearly put a lot of thought into it, and that's great. It is highly likely that if you want to make any of it reality, however, that you will have to do all the work yourself or bring new developers to the Hubzilla community who wish to work on it with you (which would be excellent). Personally speaking, any work I do related to the Hubzilla doco/help system will involve the simpler but higher impact task of continuing to organize and refine the content. I can't speak for other people, but based on my knowledge of the Hubzilla community, there will probably not be anyone else who will volunteer to write code with you. I'm not discouraging you; I'm just being realistic. A few of us will be here to help you answer specific technical questions as you dive into the code and start trying to build things you are describing.

I was invited by the organisers speak about Hubzilla on LVEE2017 conference. Here summary for my LVEE2017 speech (and maybe one Hubzilla Workshop on LVEE2017).

I am pleased for you about goals, the philosophy and historie of Hubzilla project, the unique features of dezentralized Hubzilla Grid to speech, about possibilities of solutions with Hubzilla Nomadic Identity and aceess control with fine-grained permissions for information shared across the Hubzilla grid and about them how Hbzilla community and myself are working continuously at the achieving the objectives of Hubzilla project and realisation of creative ideas in reliable and comfortable solutions.

I can't speak for other people, but based on my knowledge of the Hubzilla community, there will probably not be anyone else who will volunteer to write code with you.

Some considerations to that:

when I and other user the Hubzilla RC's test and write I bugreports, is it not for me, but for me and also for Hubzilla community. I mean debugging is also one job, wich not little important is by comparsion with programmer job . Hubzilla community can a lot more achieve, when potential synergies will be systematically to identify and consistent to use
I am interesting on constructive feedback to my ideas and on solution approaches to realize my ideas.

Nur 16 Prozent der Computernutzer in Deutschland verschlüsseln ihre E-Mails, obwohl die meisten dies für sinnvoll hielten.

Das geht aus einer repräsentativen Umfrage des Anbieters 1&1 hervor, der unter anderem web.de und GMX betreibt. Oft sei es den Nutzern zu aufwendig, ihre Kommunikation zu schützen. Auch mangelnde Kenntnis halte viele davon ab. Dass private Mails etwa von Geheimdiensten, Hackern oder dem eigenen Provider mitgelesen werden könnten, finden mehr als 70 Prozent der Nutzer bedenklich.

Hier am 22.05.2017 veröffentlicht Na ja, wenn man die 70% berücksichtigt, dann hat Hubzilla gute Chancen, offene Türen mit dem dezentralen abhörarmen Netzwerk einzurennen. Es bleibt also eine Kleinigkeit - diese Türen zu identifizieren und einen ersten Schritt machen - in die richtige Richtung

Keep the content for each language on separate URLs. Don’t use cookies to show translated versions of the page. Consider cross-linking each language version of a page. That way, a French user who lands on the German version of your page can get to the right language version with a single click.

Avoid automatic redirection based on the user’s perceived language. These redirections could prevent users (and search engines) from viewing all the versions of your site.

Perhaps you could make a little dropdown menu that integrates into the Hubzilla project page nav bar (use for example the icon http://fontawesome.io/icon/language/) so that people can select another language other than the auto-detected one that was served to them.

I even believe that it would be helpful for Hubzilla-Ranking in #SERP, when each laanguage-Pages get one separate URL. Might want to just make language a supported function of the page module (and wiki module) just like it is for the help system. It's a content decision, not a presentation decision. Comanche is a presentation platform. Bonus points for adding language preference to blocks and menus. Don't get me wrong, I love the 'switch' mechanism, but there's no reason why language awareness couldn't be a built-in platform capability.

Looks like there's some confusion. No I implemented language-sensitive *webpages* in 'red' which is basically next generation technology (Zot 5.x) but is not being developed for public use. Hubzilla is basically Zot 4.x. Redmatrix is an abandoned project fork (Zot 2.x) that appears to have usurped/stolen by Thomas as his private workspace and personal path to fortune and glory - and I guess I'm ok with that. That code is pretty awful - and we've completely rebuilt the codebase since then.

A lot of 'red' technology has found its way into Hubzilla. This feature may eventually be backported, but that isn't my decision. I do stuff in red that many of you are going to hate me for, so I'm not choosing what features get backported to hubzilla. If somebody likes a feature they can port it. If they don't, oh well. Likewise if Hubzilla does something I hate, I probably won't port it to red. Cuts both ways.

Wich important features differences help pages from webpages for you in this kontext?
Why is it for you important, help pages from webpages to difference?
Maybe are it only context-values, the make differences between *webpages* and *help pages*? Such context-values, how *user role* or *Hubzilla mobile agent (HMA)* role (s. to HMA bottom). I suggest for example these definition for one context "Hubzilla grid: homepage, hub, help documentation"
One *Hubzilla help page* is one web page with comanche features, where help for *logged in Hubzilla user* to learn about HUbzilla

This was ported to hubzilla (dev branch) yesterday. So if you're running that branch you can use it now.

If you want to translate a webpage 'foo' into German you just create a page called 'de/foo' and translate the page. And you're done. Same as you would do for help pages or wiki pages. You don't have to learn Comanche or modify templates or anything else to do this. Visit the page 'foo' with a German browser preference and you'll get the German version. If you want a French version, name it 'fr/foo'. Any language that isn't recognised will load the original page 'foo' (and see the page in whatever the default language is).

If you want to specifically load the default page and over-ride the browser setting, you can visit '-/foo' and it will load the original page 'foo' regardless of browser language. This currently works for webpages and wikis but should probably be backported to the help pages for consistency.

Using this to implement a multi-lingual web project is now pretty easy, and if you want to address the bullet points in the top level post you can still do that, but it would involve a bit of extra effort. It would be extra effort no matter how you do it so nothing has changed in that regard. Basically to make it search engine friendly, you would provide a list of languages on the top page linking to the URLs of the top page for those languages and allow people to over-ride the automatic language selection by accessing those translations directly.

By the way, you can run a dev hub in a local virtual machine, which makes it easy to tinker with stuff like this that doesn't require your hub to be accessible on the grid.

I mean, for search friendly, SEO-optimized URL's is it inpossible for all languages same address foo to use. URL-value, keywords in URL's are important for pageranking - s.

Therefore is it important, that URL contains keywords, suitably for respective language in each page.

Habe eine kleine mehrsprachige Website gebaut. Das Projekt Hubzilla - Einführung, Möglichkeiten, Hubzilla-Community ist übersichtlich, aber hat mich herausgefordert in einem Kontext, wo die Comanche switch-Anweisung erst vor ein Paar Tage realisiert wurde und ich praktsich als Betatester immer wieder für sich klären musste "Ist es jetzt ein Fehler in Comanche oder mein Fehler?". Englische Version ist vorerst ziemlich bescheiden ausgefallen. Dieser Platzhalter englische Version ist mit dem Ziel eingebaut um ein strukturell komplettes mehrsprachiges Projekt präsentieren zu können, um zu sehen, wie sowas mit Hubzilla/ Comanche machbar ist.

Ich hoffe, dass ich dazu komme die englische Seiten mit Texten zu ergänzen. Vlt. spricht den einen oder anderen das Projekt an und es kommen auch andere Sprachen hinzu

Habe im Zuge der 2.4RC-Tests ein kleines CMS-Projekt mit Hubzilla realisiert, wo ich unter anderem meine Comanche-Kenntnisse angewendet habe. Unter dieser Adresse http://hub2.sprechrun.de/page/flegno/heliza-considerations-for-one-hubzilla-mobile-agent-concept (Heliza: Überlegungen zum Hubzilla mobile Agent Konzept) wird deutsche oder englische Version eingeblendet - je nach dem, welche Standardsprache im Browser eingestellt ist - unabhängig von der Anmeldung im Hubzilla-Grid.

Also Hubzilla gefällt mir immer mehr. Man kann abseits von Hubzilla in einer #Tabellenkalkulation Daten erfassen und diese Daten dann zeitsparend in die Webseite einbinden. Mit den Texten geht es genauso.

Mein Webspace-Provider hat #Nextcloud als SaaS (Software_as_a_Service) auf meine Anregung in die Liste der installierbaren Software aufgenommen. Sehr angenehm finde ich diese Liste bei meinem Provider. Alles OpenSource-Lösungen, hat man sich für eine entschieden, erstellt man dafür über eine Weboberfläche ggf. eine Datenbank und ebenfalls über die Weboberfläche lässt sich die Software installieren.

Für #Hubzilla hat mein Provider noch keinen #SaaS -Installer erstellt - weil die Nachfrage zu gering ist. Aber der freundliche Support hat mir im Januar 2017 die Hubzilla-Version 2.0.6 und jetzt die Version 2.4RC installiert. Ohne das für mich zusätzliche Kosten entstanden sind.
