... blind people have ways to cope regardless of developers attention to accessibility. What he finds frustrating is stuff like menu items without text descriptions, e.g. he is tabbing forward and misses a button we see as the menu icon / hamburger icon if it lacks a text description in the alt property. Mostly icons, tables and illustrations or diagrams without explanatory text is a problem.

Accessibility is a good thing, but it is not binary as in you are or you are not, see https://www.w3.org/WAI/ .

A decentralized, voluntary effort like Hubzilla with its numerous publishing tools requires someone to actually write the code in an accessible way, then it requires documenters, translators and teachers to tell hub administrators what is available in way of accessibility, and then administrators to teach and make members of their hub comply with accessibility guidelines when using Hubzilla tools to grant accessible content, e.g. actually filling out the alternative text when they create a web page with Hubzilla.

What I am saying is, we are aware of the need for accessibility, yet we are very few doing the best we can in our spare time for many years.

Well, but in Germany can accessibility feature of one software solution the important unique selling proposition (USP). For example in Germany must since 31. 12.2005 all new Websites of Federal Government have the accessibility feature.

No disagreement on my part, I am merely saying the Hubzilla community must help to make it happen - the AInspector + issue posting is a way to contribute towards better accessibility.

We have the same in Norway.
