I've been pretty busy lately, sorry for not getting around to this. I suggest we use the JavaScript trick to show and hide the language content. Realistically we will never get enough translations for the redundant text to affect bandwidth usage. You can just paste your translation here and I'll implement this idea on the demo hub when I can.

I integrated the translations "the proper way" using the Transifex compatible translation file. You can check it out at https://demo.hubzilla.org .

Now I have to make a pull request for the translations in Hubzilla core...

It turns out that I did not actually do it "the proper way". @phellmes informed me that we have to revert the commit that I made so that the normal, periodic translations made via Transifex can be incorporated as usual. We'll then have to reintroduce the demo hub dialog translation using Transifex so it is done correctly.
